Great day at Staffordshire County Senior League Kick off

Updated: May 24, 2022

Venue - University of Staffordshire in Stoke on Trent

Alex McKenzie's report on the day's events is below.

MDTWFC's league campaign got off to a respectable start today.

Game 1 v Stoke City,

Line up : Pete, Alan, Ed, Dave C, Trigger, Steve Keates, Dave W.

Probably the slowest paced of the three competitive games. One great save from Pete, three shots at goal from Dave W and one in the dying minutes from Steve.

Stoke 0 - MD 0

Game 2 v Stone Old Alleynians

Line up as above with Taff on for Ed after approximately 8 mins.

Dynamo starting to knock the ball around more confidently in this game , with Dave W grabbing a goal after about 5 mins and then having another shot in the late stages.

Stone 0 - MD 1

Game 3 v Chesterton Crusaders

Brian on for Dave C from start, then reverted back later in match. Ed back on to replace Taff.

A much faster and more physical game, Chesterton proving why they did so well last year in our Paul Littlehales tournament, by keeping Dynamos hemmed in their own half for much of the match. Pete did a fine job to keep the score level before being beaten by a dubious penalty in the last third.

Chesterton 1 - MD 0

Game 4 v Stoke City (Friendly)

The last and final game was played as a friendly with Stoke City. The sides were upped to 8 each, and gave Graham a chance to stretch his legs. A pretty even match which ended at 1 -0 to Stoke City.

Well done to all.
